Inspired by the rich decorative and decadent designs of the Italian Renaissance. Patronage by grand families such as the Borgias led to the new designs using materials that were previously the preserve of royalty or bishops. Influences and gems came from all over the new trading routes.

* Rough tumbled Baltic amber beads
