Ancient world inspired collar with claw-set 'carnelian' glass stones, delicate shaped flowers and detailed embossed panels with groups of cattle and a ram's horn - all signs of fertility and abundance.
Many fine examples of Babylonian jewellery survive, and though most are in gold rather than silver this necklace is as well made and evocative as any of them.
Near mint condition, with very minor signs of wear. High silver content but unmarked so sold as white metal. Date unknown, presumed 20th Century due to spring clasp and chain fastening.
