Unique polished steel Albert watch chain charm bracelet with attached coins from France, Belgium, Italy and Spain. Most llikely made by a common soldier as a love token from the materials he had to hand and from coins traded with other recruits.
Like most trench art it is crudely made, with the drill holes, jump rings of differing sizes and the solder work is quite roughtly done. Coins date from 1853 to 1917, the chain is very typical of the era. Such peices from WW1 are very hard to find. Very good worn condition. Fastens with a secure sprung clasp. 8cm .
